    Best X10 Interface for HS3PRO?

    Just wondering what the best option is for X10 hardware to be used with HS3PRO?
    I have an old Ocelot and Leopard1 and was wondering if there is a better more reliable option? Thanks Much.....Rick

    Here utilize the CM11A and TW523 and Jeff Volp's original X10 amplifier (today called XTBR) and dual phased XTB IIR.

    You could utilize your Ocelot with the and old TW-523 or new Volp XTB-IIR. I use the Ocelot and Leviton Omni Pro 2 panel with the XTB-IIR.

    I have no issues with the CM11A direct connection to Homeseer.

    Lots of choices there. I find Jeff Volp's X10 devices the best today.

    I would install and test out the current X10 and Ocelot plugin and see what works for you. Here a few months back got a steady X10 noise that did not go away. Both devices continued to work. I left the X10 signal meter online and noticed the noise going away with a new outdoor AC compressor.

    Today primarily utilize X10 for my once a year Christmas lightning with X10 modules inside and outside.

    I do also utilize wireless X10 today with my W800's.

      Have been using ACT TI103 for a number of years. Not sure it is still available, but highly recommended.

        I highly recommend Jeff Volp's interfaces. They work well, and offer substantially greater signal strength.
        His XTB-232 emulates the CM11 and gives me very good performance with the HS3 X10 plug-in.

            Note too that all of the devices mentioned above work via a 9 Pin RS-232 connection.

            1 - CM11A - 4 pin RJ-22 serial handset style connector to RS-232
            2 - TW-523 - 4 pin RJ-11 serial style connector to RS-232
            3 - TI-103 / TI-212 - direct wire out to serial style to RS-232
            4 - Ocelet primary is RS-232 standard and connection to TW-523 is RJ-11 => TW-523
            5 - Volp's X10 stuff utilizes RJ-11 4 pin RS-232

            Over the years (during Homeseer 2 days) here switched over to using Digi RS-232 to USB devices. You can also purchase a single USB to RS-232 device today which works just fine in Windows.

            Typically the comm port numbers for these types of devices will default to first available serial port. That and you can change the serial port comm number which makes these devices easy to use.

              I don't think you'll find anything more reliable than an Ocelot and Bruce Bowen's GTS 3rd Party Plugin. I have never had a problem with it since I moved to HS3.

                I use the ti103. However, bought Jeff's interface but only tested it with HS2. Discovered problems with HS2 implementation on CM11 with portmon and went back to the TI103. Both Pete and I raised it with HST, but the fix was in HS3. If you're interested, I'd be happy to sell it for a good price,. Basically never used.

                  @Robert,

                  What are you selling?

                  CM11, TI103 or Jeff's interface?

                  Which of Jeff's X10 devices are you selling (or keeping)?

                    Sorry if I've confused everyone, it's Jeff's CM11 equivalent X-10 interface. XTB-232 .

                      BTW one advantage of the Volp XTB IIR is that it speaks to two phases and has a plug for a second TW-523 or CM11A (except that it is two pronged instead of three).

                      Here use multiple X10 PIMs such that I can trigger events based on what X10 is being received by what device.

                      Mark Fisher has updated the original X10 plugin which today provides a nice debug diagnostic picture of the X10 signals over here ==> HomeSeer X10 Plug-in

                      I do the same today with UPB and multiple UPB PIMs. With UPB diagnostic / configuration software I can see signals on opposite phase and at a distance from computer connected UPB PIMs.
