What thermostats can I use with the M1G? I have an old one in place now and a wireless version if it exists would be perfect.

RCS, Aprilaire, HAI or an X10 version of them will work. The X10 version gives no temperature feedback.

Does the TR40 (RS485) integrate with the Elk nicely? I want to add HVAC control, but not really sure what I need to do it. If the TR40 does work, what else besides the thermostat do I need to intergrate it?

You would need to an an Elk Thermostat interface - M1XSP - Yes, it works great with it!

Thermostat messaging

Currently the M1XSP serial port expander does not send text messages through to the Thermostat. That feature is on the list to be done. When available, it will be a free software upgrade to the M1XSP.
