    Help interacting with Nexia website

Since there are no thermostats available for my Trane XL20i HVAC system that can work with HS3 my last resort is to use Nexia's website. I was hoping I could have a few scripts to simply switch between states (home, away, sleep), and to turn the fan on or off.

I have a lot of experience in C++ and C# and have written device drivers for astrophotography CCD cameras but I have absolutely ZERO experience dealing with websites, HTML etc. I've never used VB either although that isn't my stumbling block. The site needs me to sign in with a username and password. After that all I'd need to do is click a control (Climate), then the resulting page can provide controls to change heating state, temperature, etc. If anyone can at least help me get started it would be greatly appreciated.

    1) sign into https://www.mynexia.com/login with username and password
    id ="login" & id = "password"
    2) click form with id of "climate_link"
    3) click a type of form <div class="segment preset" val="sleep">Sleep</div>

    Thanks!!

I don't see that anyone replied to this post. Did you solve the problem, which I also have? Thanks, Elliott

Trane Thermostat Work Around to Link to Homeseer

I figured out a work around to link my Trane thermostats to Homeseer home automation. It uses the Nexia and Homeseer services in IFTTT. I'm not sure how long Nexia provided this service, because I would have done this earlier. Nonetheless, set up your IFTTT account with both Nexia and Homeseer services. Log into mynexia, create a new automation and for the trigger, select "3rd-party integration," which will show IFTTT, if you have enabled this service in your IFTTT account. It is really simple from there. It's not ideal, but it works.

@Richel, Thanxs for the post, I've followed your steps all the way up to setting up a new NEXIA automation with IFTTT as the 3rd-party integration.

Need more clues please, what more did you do to accomplish you link between NEXIA and HomeSeer and what were you able to make functional? thanxs in advance, Mike

Mike: I replied to your PM (at least I thought I did, but can't find the sent message). All my Nexia/Homeseer applets are one-way: Homeseer to Nexia.
Within Homeseer I have created many virtual devices. For example, I have a virtual device "Armed stay" that turns on when my integrated DSC system is armed for the night. Within mynexia.com, I have created an automation ("Going to bed') that sets the kitchen thermostat (60/82) and the master bedroom thermostat (65/78). It is important that the schedules on your Trane thermostats are disabled. Now, within IFTTT.com, I have created an applet with the "IF" part a Homeseer device turns on (e.g., "Armed stay"), and the "THEN" part is to run a Nexia automation ("Going to bed"). I hope this helps. Elliott

Elliot, thanxs for comeback. So your not getting any feed back from Nexia/TRANE to HomeSeer? I was hoping that at a minimum at least zone temps, and heatpump/cooling modes statuses would come back to HomeSeer in order to setup trigger/conditions based on the latest. Mike

Unfortunately, this is the case. To get feedback regarding whether the HVAC is running, so that I can turn ceiling fans on in various rooms, I have placed Aeon Labs energy sensors strategically on the HVAC units (one is at the air handler, the other is at the outdoor compressor unit). So, when current flow exceeds a certain level, that triggers events to turn on fans and when the flow drops below a certain level, fans go off. I suppose you could also use external temperature sensors, coupled with virtual devices, Nexia automations, and IFTTT applets to turn HVAC on and off. All this is very inelegant. However, I do like the Trane HVAC systems that had to be installed last year after hurricane Matthew.

One could possibly create a service that would post and read the html and fill in the data fields hit the postback buttons automatically.

Dan, more clues please and do we have something that we could build upon? Mike

Hi Any update to this issue ?

I have just had a new Trane system installed and it has the touch screen that only seems to work with Nexia.
