    Startup Error

    Hi Mark

i have been away for the last several months as we moved. i had lots of things to take care of before I could get back into my HomeSeer project at the new house. Today I added a new 2472DWH receptacle. The software has added it and I can control the new device from HomeSeer.

When I try to reference the new device in an Event, I see a message which states "Use 'clear' in the Set Display Field to CLEAR the current device string setting". That message is shown when my Event is trying to control a device. I am not sure where to go to CLEAR the field. Can you point me in the right direction?

Secondly, I am getting the following error in my Startup log. Are these issues related? What do you suggest that I should do to clear things up?

    Thanks

    Brian

      Thanks for the prompt reply.

Earlier today, I decided to delete the Event but when I tried to create a new one tonight, I was not able to recreate "Clear" message. My guess is that something was out of sorts in the underlying code. Unless I can somehow recreate the error then there is nothing to address. It was an old Event that I tried to modify so maybe something was messed up from before. My suggestion is that we should just forget that issue and hope that it never reappears.

As requested, I have the relevant section from the Insteon.ini file. Device 9 is an old Keypad that I recently inserted.

not sure what caused the above error. please delete and recreate. you might need to factory reset the kpl as well.

I deleted the keypad and reinstalled it. Everything seems to work fine.

          Thank you

Thanks for reporting back. watch for this same error after a restart of hs or plugin.

              Hi Mark

My "Clear" error message has reappeared. Now it shows whenever I edit any event and control the state of a device regardless of the device that is being managed.

I have attached a screenshot for you.

              Thanks

                Brian,

                I can't replicate this issue.

This is not an Insteon plugin message. have you searched the hs3 forum for this message to see what it means?
