Help with Hikvision cameras - Working!

    Hi,

New to HS3 and really like the functionality of the program. I am trying to get my Hikvision cams working with the NetCam plugin and cannot seem to get an image to show in the view section. I have tried using a URL direct to the camera and also to a Blueiris server. Bothe these URLs work fine if I use them directly in a browser but if I go to the NetCam View page I get no image.

The URLS I have tried are:

    Direct to cam:
    http://<user>:<password>@<cam IP>:<port>/PSIA/Streaming/channels/1/picture

    Blue Iris
    http://<user>:<password>@<BI server IP>/image/<camera name>

Does anyone have Hikvision cameras working with the Netcam plugin?

    Thanks,
    Andy

    http:// admin : PASSWORD@ IP_ADDRESS :80 /Streaming/channels/2/picture

      Thanks Jon,

I tried that URL but still do not see a picture in the NetCam view page. Are you able to see this or is there any other way to test to see if the camera works?

      Thanks,
      Andy

Pictures work just fine for me. Have you checked the HS logs yet to see if there are any errors?

I figured it out and have it working now. It turned out to be the plugin didn't my password that was in the URL. I had some non-alpha characters and I guess it didn't like it so I changed to to all alpha and it works!

Ah nice! Glad you got it working. Now your next test will be getting a usable stream within an hstouch client... I havent really figured this out yet.

Hey ando1, do you know if numeric characters are acceptable or is it only alpha with no special characters?

              Thanks,
              Stacy

Not sure what is allowed and what isn't, but my password is a bunch of numbers and letters.

                  Hi Stacy,

My issue was that I had an "@" symbol in my password. I took that out and still have other non alpha characters and it works.

                  Hope that helps,
                  Andy

Thanks for posting this, yep HomeSeer still has this bug and has been what's been wasting my time (in addition to there being no device in HomeSeer itself). Have had to change my password (and a bunch of scripts that all access the camera and use it too) and now working. Had been using %40 to map the @ in the password which of course works with every browser, script, and product I'm using but not HomeSeer.

I realized this is a necro thread, and that SS plugin is not supported, but...

                      I used http://<user>:<password>@<cam IP>:<port>/PSIA/Streaming/channels/1/picture

One the live view page I get

Frontdoor<date/taime>.jpg is shown as text only.

Anyone know how to actually get the image?
