Insteon Hub v2 status reporting back to HS3

I am currently using version 3.0.6.0 of the plugin and an Insteon Hub v2 with the latest firmware. Everything has been working perfectly with regard to controlling my lighting devices through HS3. I have a need to control a device through the Insteon App, and have that status updated in HomeSeer. Right now, if I turn on a Keypadlinc button in the Insteon App, the action occurs on the Keypadlinc (device and keypad light turns on), but HomeSeer never shows that the action occurred in the log - so there is no way to trigger an event.

by default, if the plugin didn't send the cmd, it won't process the ACK.

try adding the following line to the [config] section of then insteon.ini file
ProcessACKs=TRUE

you may then create a trigger on the status change. the insteon special trigger will not work in this scenario

That line is already in my insteon.ini. Would a device that I turn on/off from the Insteon App create a log entry in HS3? The plugin doesn't appear to be processing the ACKs.

the plugin should log the ACK if it sees it

please enable detailed logging within the plugin, run your scenario and check the log for an ACK/response from the device

please post the log snippet of the transaction

Thanks for taking a look at this Mark. What I did while detailed logging was enabled was - From the Insteon App, I turned the 3D.8F.58 Keypadlinc main (load) button on then off, then button D on the same Keypadlinc on then off. I stripped my IP:Port info from the snippet below.

that's a lot of traffic for two simple on/off sequences.

the kpl is responding with a 'status request' cmd/msg. never seen that before. there are a few ACKs that look correct; I highlighted them above in color.

can you do one simple On, and post the detailed log entries for just that transaction. I need to be able to isolate the log entries for a given cmd

Yes, it does appear a bit chatty . I think what happened was I launched the Insteon App after I put the plugin in detailed logging, and maybe it does some sort of polling around for status.

Here is the snippet for one single On of the load button on that keypadlinc from the Insteon App. I made sure the Insteon App was already running before I did the On.

Longer story... I am trying to voice control my shades with HS3 and Alexa. I have found a way around the limitation in the Alexa API that doesn't support Open/Close instructions (only On/Off). This is my simple test event so I am not opening and closing my shades all day and driving my wife nuts.

A button push on the keypadlinc turns on the Media Cabinet and Curio Cabinet. From the Insteon App - tapping the Media Cabinet button, turns on the keypadlinc LED, *not* the Media Cabinet outletlinc module, and *not* the Curio Cabinet.

I do see the status change on the HS devices page if I control the Keypadlinc Load button from the Insteon App, but no status change is reflected if I control any of the other A-D buttons.

Perhaps this is a linking issue after all???? Here is my Link Table

if the devices work they way you want when you physically control them, then the links are fine. the issue is, activating the kpl btn from sw doesn't activate the links.
