I keep mine pretty simple. I made a virtual device that I turn on or off depending on weather or not i want the occupation simulation running. I just add that to my away mode that also triggers my alarm being set, etc. There are event triggers to start/stop the simulation or it can be done with a script command.Marty

There is a option in the setup page that you input a device id which makes the device toggle, is this for the virtual that you creat?Hector

Yes, I used two event, one for on the other for off. The events are triggered off of the virtual changing to on or off.
I didn't use that option I just made a virtual device but as long as it toggles between on and off either should work.Marty

I have both events made. The trigger is bloccupied then I select if it's to start the simulation or to stop it. Could it be that Iam using specific time feature and not HS time? I have enabled and disable the plug but still won't work. I tried starting the event manually and what it did was to turn on a lamp but it stay lit al. Knight . It also said in the event screen "bloccupied " running in red.Hector

It does seem like it could use a little more detailed help info to understand how it works. I started messing with it yesterday and I had to figure out that I needed an event to start and stop the simulation separate form the start/stop time in the setup.
What I wound up doing was setting up two events that trigger from absolute times. The actions are BLoccupied actions to start and stop the sim.
Then I marked a couple of lights in the devices section to be included. Then I set up the sim times in the Options screen. I did not use that device code thing in the Options screen. Still not sure what that's all about.
With that, it worked.
I'll eventually set it up to work from my security arm away stuff to start and stop the sim.

You need 2 events (one for start and one for stop).
The device code at the bottom of the options page is "Device code to turn on when simulation is stopped"

I've been using this for a few years with no troubles. I will tell you all I don't use any of the features in the options sections. I probably made it more complicated than need be but it's served my purposes and has evolved over the years to what it is now.
I made my own virtual device for "occupied mode", then use 5 different events to control when and how that occupied mode works.
I'm sure i could have simplified this some but I have a lot of my events for different modes in groups and I use virtual devices to control them. It makes it easier for me, in the long run, to just add a device to go on or off than events and script snippets to those modes.Marty
