    RGBW Landscape lighting

    Hi All,

I am going to start down the adventure of adding landscape lighting to my house/yard and wanted to see if there are any RGBW lighting solutions that people have used. I am looking for uplights for trees/bushes, house lighting etc. but want to be able to have full control over the color spectrum.

Most of the LED RGBW outdoor lights I found come with a remote for each one and you have to be in close proximity in order to turn them on. I am looking to tie this in to my HS system but haven't found a good way to tie all of these lights together.

What creative solutions have others done to do this type of landscape lighting and have full control over the color spectrum?

I don't know if this is going to cost too much but I have seen some people use RGBW dimmers such as Qubino/Fibaro but those are expensive and may take a lot of them to make them work. I feel moisture would be a big problem with that type of solution.

Just trying to get ideas of what others have done so i can figure out what type of solution I could use for my yard. I do have a fairly large yard so this would need to be able to stretch long distances as far as the signal to turn them on/off.

I noticed Philips recently announced some RGB Hue outdoor lights-including landscape. Sounds exactly like what you are looking for. June timeframe for going on sale.

Wow, those will be hella pricy for what I am looking to do. I'll need to find other lower cost alternatives or just go with the regular white lights for now until there are more options..

      Thanks!!

You might be able to use these but the first one would require a raspbee or conbee but that is easy. You could then use most led strips. Second one is z-wave.

        Or this one.

          I bought these: http://amzn.to/2FFda2d

then attached to a Qubino RGBWW dimmer http://amzn.to/2pkLRRo . Excellent results even in wet conditions because I sealed all the connectors in liquid electrical tape.

Of course, that's more like accent lighting than real bulbs.

However, here's another option. Using a Raspbee or Conbee with the Jowihue plugin you can use some zigbee rgb bulb. I searched and found this one, http://bit.ly/2HIDc2f but I'm pretty sure there are others for less $. You're right, this can be quite expensive if you're looking at installing a bunch of bulbs.

I've bought a lot of zigbee stuff from Aliexpress and it's great value. You just have to wait three weeks for it to arrive from China.

Check out the blinky Xmas light scene as there are plenty of tips/suggestions for the multitude of different ways you can do this.

For mine I run 12v DMX floods that connect into a Sandevices e682 controller which in turn is controlled by a raspberry pi running FPP (falcon player) which I can trigger via rest api call from Homeseer to change colour.
It also runs several thousand other lights as well so overkill for your scenario. I've not looked into it but suspect you can get even cheaper wireless DMX controller/receivers these days that would be less bulky and remove the issue of signal loss over long cable lengths if you have to run them.

All lighting I get from Ray Wu off aliexpress (well known as trusted supplier by Xmas lighting community)
