    new vs old rfxcom adapters

Ok so I have decisions to make...

since Blade was able to make a plugin for 310mhz... I am going to purchase that plugin and it will work with my w800 antenna... good there..

however Blade is also adding support for rfxcom 433mhz adapters...
HOWEVER here is where myself as a end user has to make decisions..
seems that my RFXCOM adapter is the older style and Blade is unable to have support for it.. not Blade's fault...

so I need to decide.... do I wait for a rfxcom plugin (which I havent seen a beta for yet) and pay the upgrade fee ($19.99 / or $29.99 whatever it will be set at????) and keep on chugging...

or do I pony up for the newer style as seen here

    http://store.homeseer.com/store/rfxc...P1199C240.aspx

with that it is $125 + $20 blade's plugin putting me at $150ish with shipping....

when in theory I could just buy the rfxcom plugin when it comes out as I still am going to buy Blade's BLRF plugin.... so $$40/$50 vs $150...

I just dont know what the benefit of the newer RFXCOM adapter is.

All I use my RFXCOM adapter for is for my THC-138 Oregon Temps (10) as my scale broke and wife threw it out.....

wish I knew how to code and id just do my own plugins...

The RFXCOM plug-in is in development at the moment.
It will take some time before a beta will be available. If you see all the function of the RFXCOM plug-in you know why.

The first beta will have Input Sensor support.
After that Security sensors, Output devices and Virtual sensors will be added.

Until the RFXCOM plug-in is available you can use Paul's HS2-HS3 connector

The new RFXrec433, RFXtrx315 and RFXtrx433 have flash memory and are user upgradable.
This makes it possible for the user to update the firmware. This was not possible with the previous RFXCOM receivers and transmitters.

The RFXtrx315 can be used for receiving of:
        - 310MHz US X10 lighting and security sensors
        OR
        - 315MHz US Visonic PowerCode sensors.

Along the same lines as the OP, I have the dual 310/433 receive-only USB unit. I've seen the newer receive units that seem to be one or the other, not both, right? So unless I need LAN, or need the TRX ability, I'm best sticking with the unit I have, right?

The only downside I can think of is if 3rd parties aren't supporting this one in future HS3 plugins... and I suppose the same query applies to the RFXCOM HS3 plugin itself. Am I doomed if I want to use HS3 and my older 310/433 rec. unit?

            Thanks

The ACRF and RFXCOM plug-in will support the older receiver and transmitter types in HS3.

Due to the large size of these plugins (RFXCOM > 23.000 code lines) and a lot of changes in the HS interface it will take some time before these plug-ins are ready for HS3.
