Not sure if it matters, but I don't put the switches or this iolink in to prog mode before changing things (program for HS, delete links, ect). I do that for the motion and door closures though or they simply fail

Tried it with the program mode enabled with no change in functionality

Well, that seemed to resolve it. Hopefully I did it corectly (the fact that it reports the status imediately is a good sign)

I did a HW reset and used you replace device tool. once it was replaced, I did a re-read of the device and links and then a program for HS

work good now, but I have a pile of irrelevant links in the DB now for this device:

          Link #8 Unknown Group/Button Name #193 controls Unregistered Device Link 199 (C2.C3.C4)
          Link #7 Unknown Group/Button Name #201 controls Unregistered Device Link 207 (CA.CB.CC)
          Link #6 Unknown Group/Button Name #209 controls Unregistered Device Link 215 (D2.D3.D4)
          Link #5 Unknown Group/Button Name #217 controls Unregistered Device Link 223 (DA.DB.DC)
          Link #4 Unknown Group/Button Name #225 controls Unregistered Device Link 231 (E2.E3.E4)

          Link #2 Unknown Group/Button Name #241 controls Unregistered Device Link 247 (F2.F3.F4)
          Link #1 Unknown Group/Button Name #249 controls Unregistered Device Link 255 (FA.FB.FC)
Link #17 Input Sensor has local control reporting to HomeSeer
Link #16 Unknown Group/Button Name #135 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 129 (82.83.84) - Command: On
Link #15 Unknown Group/Button Name #143 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 137 (8A.8B.8C) - Command: On
Link #14 Unknown Group/Button Name #151 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 145 (92.93.94) - Command: On
Link #13 Unknown Group/Button Name #159 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 153 (9A.9B.9C) - Command: On
Link #12 Unknown Group/Button Name #167 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 161 (A2.A3.A4) - Command: On

Link #9 Unknown Group/Button Name #191 is controlled by Unregistered Device Group 185 (BA.BB.BC) - Command: On

Should I delete these? Now that I finally have it working, I'd hate to mess it up
Still a little green with Insteon and you plugin

Nm, I spoke too soon. I'll try the HW reset again though. I must have been right in with the 1 minute refresh time. Tricked me, cause when I took that to 0, it never updates

Odd, after I did the program for HS, I did a re-read of the table links:

Unknown Group/Button Name #193 controls Unregistered Device Link 199 (C2.C3.C4)
              Link #7 Unknown Group/Button Name #201 controls Unregistered Device Link 207 (CA.CB.CC)

Link#17 is no longer in there for HS. I must be doing something wrong here

Can you do another hw reset on the iolinc. The link db is clearly messed up

Will do, but not till Monday. Out of town till then

After I do the HW reset, what's the best way to get it linked up again? Add as new or do a replace device?

Well, Mark. I gave up on this. Tried it all over again from scratch. Cleared out everything from HS and reset the IOLinc. Same thing in the end though. The device won't store the HS link in it's table and has all the other garbage links still there (kinda like the link table is locked down as read only or something). Sent a ticket in to get this replaced as there's nothing else I can do here.

                    Appreciate the help though!!!!

ok, well let me know if the new device resolves the issue.

Well, i got the new IOLinc in and programmed, same issues. I must be screwing up somewhere. IDK

I've tried multiple different ways and end up with the same result.

i'm watch this from my iphone 'HSTouch" app and from my laptop using the HS Weg GUI

Wipe out the links in the device so I' left with nothing in HS:
                          Device Link Table
                          **Empty

"Program for HomeSeer (Tried both setting the device in to program mode and not):

                          Device Link Table

Link #1Input Sensor has local control reporting to HomeSeer

All seems OK so far (does seem odd that there's no link set set up for the output mind you)

Simulate inputs and outputs, no status updates of any kind unless I 'Poll devices' from the status screen.

If i read back links from the device (Re-Read device links and settings), I get the table of junk that just won't go away:

                          Device Link Table

                          Link #8Unknown Group/Button Name #193 controls Unregistered Device Link 199 (C2.C3.C4)

The HS links the Plugin sets up are not there. Delete all the links and try again, same results. I'm at a loss here

If your Plugin was able to initiate a Poll device via the events, I could bandage this (Poll 2 sec after an open command and 12 sec after a close, I have logic determining which to do based on the status input so I can't accidentally open the door from afar), but I don't see that as an option in the event commands for the Plugin.

I must be retarded or something. Maybe I just need the idiot version on how to properly set this up with your plugin. You said yours works fine, so I must be doing something wrong.

Maybe I'm not suppose to Tap-Add this particular type of device? Maybe just use the set buttons between the IOLinc and the PLM. IDK, but this IOLinc is pissing me off LOL. Gotta be missing something that I'm gonna kick myself in the @$$ for later!

                            Appreciate the help Mark!!

                              Trevor,

sorry to hear the new device didn't fix this.

i think you are having comm issues if you can't even program the device.

can you move it somewhere else in the house; ie closer to the plm for example.

I would use the manual add to register the device.

you can poll the device in a script using the following

hs.polldevice("A1") where a1 is the device code for the iolinc sensor.

you can then use hs.ison("A1") or hs.isoff("A1") to test the state.
