Not that they were actually racing but i think intermatic has screwed up big time by not releasing their product line first. For those who do not know Acts 3 ways switches will be available soon from AutomatedOutlet.comZ-wave, #1 Reseller, Home Automation. According to the HomePro Online CatalogOther devices are soon to come such as Motion Detectors and smoke alarms.
The things i would like to see next are wall outlets rated for 15 amps or more and a thermostat. I would also like to see a better looking remote(maybe even a universal remote so i can control z-wave and my tv/dvd/vcr and if i had it my way RF for my PC, but one can only dream of so many features.
Right now im just happy to see 3way switches. I do not have details on how the 3way switches work but i do know that they are not only 3 way switches but are also sceen switches. Meaning tap once for one sceen and tap two or three times for another sceen. If i read the catalog right you will need to buy a 3way switch along with a slave switch in order to get 3way funtionality.
I have heard estimates of $45 or just a little bit more to be the cost per switch. A little pricy but if you think about the fact that you only need to buy them once you may be able to get past the cost and just buy them.
What does everyon else think?
