Yep I'll go though the help\setup files.

I'm amazed that BT business does not fully support POP3. Have you tried with my script to see if it does actually pick up the mail from a BT connect address? You can still use your system to read locally if this works.
Your script works great with BT Business. My problem is that they have changes there servers to units that are not POP3, cannot remember what they are, but emulate POP3 for the purpose of collecting and sending mail. What they will not allow is Folder sharing, read requests etc. I share folders between my main PC and my Laptop such as Calender and a couple of others which require POP3 or Exchange Server to work. thats why I went back to using Workgroup Mail as it does, which suggests it is POP3 thinking about it. I know Microsoft has discontinued "folder sharing" in versions after Office 2000 on grounds of security and probably to promote Exchange Server, but I like it!

Jon just noticed a line in the config I had not completed. What is "HomeSeer Account User Name"?

If you use Homeseer user accounts on your system, you can also set up accounts with the script so that only the HS account holder can see their own mail. Look at the Checkpop.ini documentation that describes this.

          Thanks Jon.

Yes I am still plowing through the docs, and trying to figure a way of not using Workgroup Mail, but just direct downloads to each user from BT.

            Bingo !

Remed out the line about HomeSeer User Accounts and it connected with the local server, reported the correct number of e-mails there and nothing else.

Great, so now onto the rest of the set up.

            Thanks.

              Cannot send mails

Hello JON, I am a new mail-user in HS2.0 but I have a problem with sending mail.

I can read the mailboxen over POP 3 with Homeseer 2.0 and JON's mail. OKE.
              Script CheckEmailPOP_V3_HS2.vbh works fine.
              I can start //email/Webmail.ash.

But I can't send mail (Not POP3 and Not MAPI).

Firewall and virusscanner are disabled. Ans there is no mailprogram on this PC.

The errorlog in the Homeseer log when I send a POP3 mail: Error - Unable to connect to SMTP server to send email: mail.planet.nl Info: Network connection aborted by local host

              Or:
Error - Unable to connect to SMTP server to delever SMTP message through authsmtp.vodafone.nl Will try later: No valid recipients specified.

I worked whole day on this problem but I canot find the solution.

              Please can You help me?

              THANKS, Theo Wieleman

                Hi Theo,

The sending of email is done via the Homeseer interface.

Go to setup and click the Email tab.

Make sure you have filled in the follwing fields:

                Sending Server (SMTP):
                SMTP Username:
                SMTP Password:

Also set "Use MAPI for E-Mail" to No

If this is setup correctly, then it must be a problem with your set-up
                Jon

                    Email still listed as unread

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue but even after I've read emails they are still listed as "unread" in my status window. Any suggestions or settings I should check out so fix this issue?

                    Thanks

The emails are not marked as read or unread when you view them. What you see is a snapshot on the mail server.

As stated in the documentation, it is not designed to replace your normal email client but to provide an alternate way to view them via Homeseer.

                            download of 2.1.60

I went to download 2.1.6 and it shows closed for now. Had you used 2.1.54? This would tell me if it is my problem or just with 2.1.54 and will clear up once they open up 2.1.6 again.
                            Thanks

                              Daniel,

Sorry to see you are having problems.

Do you get this error when deleting an individual email or is it when you delete the entire mailbox. If it is individual mail, does this always happen?

I assume you got the package from the updater. Just to make sure nothing has got corrupted, go to your Homeseer 2/Updates2 directory. Delete any folder that starts with POP3 ....

Go to the updater and download the package again. It will reload the package but NOT overwrite your checkpop.ini file. It will re-register all the files correctly. Make sure you reboot.

                                Problem is still there

I did what you said and no luck. I just wonder if it is the version that I am running. I will wait until I can 2.1.6 and then see what happens. I just when I try to delete a single message.
I use this program all the time. I really like it better then outlook.

                                Thanks,
