Are you using the HS Skill or the Connected Home API? The former is "Alexa, tell HomeSeer..." For the latter: https://forums.homeseer.com/showpost...72&postcount=4

thanks, i am using the Alexa API as i find it more fluid than "tell homeseer to"

i just tested it and it works with on off but not open close... very odd.

this is how my device is setup

That is a limitation of using the Smarthome skill. You can only use on/off commands.
          Try the Homeseer skill.

You can use more than just on/off. Check the link above.

OK I'm a little confused. I used these details and option 1..

                  http://homeseer.com/amazon-echo-integration.html

Where is the Alexa API ? I'd like to use additional commands rather than just on/off....or am I using it ???

                  Thankyou..Pete

OK well I can confirm the "open" command doesnt work with all devices...

"Alexa open front gate" works most times
"Alexa open front door" just wont work. I do Simon says and it heard me fine. I was wondering if it was an issue with the word door, tried simply changing it to garage and same result.

"Alexa run front door" works fine.

Havent found a pattern of behaviour yet to see what the issue is...
