Running Z-Net with a battery pack

I was going to use Z-Net with a battery pack to bring it closer to the device I want to include that did not have a electrical outlet near.

Will this work? It is just to power up the Z-Net, include my device and power off Z-Net... So I guess within 5-10 minutes max.

    Any thoughts?

Sounds reasonable. Most USB batteries I think should do that.

Very reasonable. It's just an RPI. Just make sure the battery pack is 5V/2.0A output (2.5A is preferred) and I don't see any issues. Won't run for days but for a few hours definitely and for just including it's a great solution. You can add in a wifi ethernet bridge and be completely mobile.

I've done this with a 1st gen Z-Net that doesnt have wifi. HS sold a separate wifi dongle and it works fine. I had a cheapo power brick that powered it long enough to add a device by the pool.

When you do this, go ahead and optimize.

I use one of these to do this and it seems to work just fine.
