Re-installed and not working?

Hi,

I built a new system last night - I re-installed HS 2.1.104.0 and downloaded the Insteon through the downloader- 2.16 I beleive - running XP Pro, IE7, downloaded and updated netframe 1.1 and 2.0.

Cannot get into the set-up screen, and therefore all sub-screens?

Copied over my old mdb file, so all the events and devices load, but the Insteon button/link is NOT there and I cannot get any of the X-10 actions to actual happen through the X-10 PLC - which is USB, even though HS says it sent the signal - but nothing happens.

??

Let me know if I can e-mail a printscreen of the Setup page in the web browser - I get a blue screen with multiple lines of the horizontal menu items - I was able to copu and paste - I get 12 or 13 lines of this from the top to the bottom of the page - if I click on anyhting BUT Setup, it works, but set-up takes me back to this errant browser page?

Re-installed the Insteon zip files - this seems to be a general HS web interface issue - tried changing the INtranet settings - no benefit from that? I get no errors at start-up - says it sees the interfaces ?

But I still have no Insteon button/link to click on within the web brower control panel?

I seem to have the most up to date version of HS - tried re-installing HS - 2.1.104.0

Have you loaded the latest Insteon beta from this forum? This version was supposed to have fixed this browser issue.

Yes, it says I have 2.16 and SDM is 1.1.122.278 - was workig great in my other machine - not sure what happened -

I just tried uninstalling HS, rebootinng, and re-installing from the HS site downlaod page - still same result?

I am realizing now that as I look at the log, it finds the insteon PLC, but the SDM doesn't start and run? I uninstalled and installed it again, and also pasted the zip files for 2.16 - not sure why this is not running-?

It can't find the PLC without the SDM, but according to your logs you don't have the Insteon plug-in enabed. Since the plug-in uses a web GUI for setup you will only be missing the config button if the interface is not enabled.

I guess I was thinking you were talking about the Insteon setup page, but if you mean that you can't get to the HomeSeer setup page then the problem is completely different.

I've usually seen this when you have HomeSeer locked down to only the local host machine, then you move the settings to another machine or you get a different IP address. Sometimes this seems to mess things up a bit.

That might be why Rich suggested a new build, they may have dealt with the issue recently.

I built a brand new machine - installed from the install file I had on my hard drive as it was the same version as online - could not get into the general HS Setup page - tried the first install and selected not to install the speaker client, and when it offered the controller during set-up, I selected the USB controlers for X-10 and for INsteon. Could not get into the Setup page to adjust the controllers, et al.

Tried uninstall and re-install without selecting any controllers during setup but no go - I think this may be an IE7 issue, but it's strange, it worked on my other machine.

I think I am going to try the Beta 2.2 or install to a new durectory so with the online download...

You must bring over your MDB and Insteon.INI file at the same time. If you don't then you will get duplicate Insteon devices. If you don't have any events tied to your Insteon devices then you can bring up the MDB and delete the Insteon devices. When you next run with the Insteon.ini the devices will be re-created.

BTW, fyi to anyone that would benefit, I bought an anti-virus program called Kaspersky at CompUsa last week based on someone's recomendation in the store - it found 95 adware and worm viruses that had gotten by Norton- I am finding it is identifying and blocking partial-drop viruses, which apparently is the new methodoigy - they send part of the virus at different times, and then it is assembled once all the pieces have been delivered - the software is really impressive -
