Which is the correct replacement variable to use?

    Good morning folks!
I just realized that I'm confused, ...ok, more than usual, even after morning coffee.

I had been using replacement variables in daily emails to myself to report on the current status of various devices - sprinkler, temperature, pool heater, garage door etc.

But I just discovered that when I use DSR, it returns whatever value is in the status text field, which is also a field that can be manually set when controlling a device in an event. And that scared me because I realized I'm not seeing the true, unadulterated value of that device, which is what I want.

I want to know the TRUE value of the pool heater switch, not the text that I may have entered there during an event.

Can you please suggest which is the best replacement variable for this purpose?
    $$DSR / $$DTR / $$DVR ???

    Much thanks,

If you have the device reference number, it looks like you can use: $$DVR
That will return just the value for that device reference number.
