    Nortek/GoControl/Linear Z-Wave Siren Supported Classes

    Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with the WA105BDZ-1 z-wave siren? It seems as though Linear/GoControl and Nortek all share the same hardware.

The siren paired quick and easy with HomeSeer, but it just shows up as a generic binary device. The siren will automatically turn off after 30 seconds, but the status in HomeSeer does not change. If I poll the node, it will update as "off" but if I do not poll the node it will stay in the "on" state indefinitely. All the manual says is that "This device will respond to BASIC and BINARY commands".

Am I missing something here? or is this the best I will get from this device?

Can anyone recommend a decent z-wave siren that they have had good experiences with?

    Thanks for the help

Edit: Here is the link to the manufacture:

I use the ZM1601US-5 by Vision and it works great. It has main device as switch binary. 3 child devices are battery, home security and siren. Very loud.

      Ok, thanks for the info.

Ya, my siren does not have any children devices; just the one binary command. The siren in your link looks identical to the one I have, but there must be some firmware differences.

I will probably return this and purchase the one you have.

      Thanks
