guest.guest@ access not working

If I want to connect to my webserver using http://guest.guest@mysite.com, the server still asks for a password.
If guest is manually entered as user and password, access is granted.
The HS webserver is connected through a netgear router, but this used to work ...

Any ideas.

I believe it's guest:guest, not guest.guest
