    Mysterious Shutdown

For the 3rd time in 2 weeks, my HomeSeer shutdown for no apparent reason. Noticed events were not running and found the system not running.

PC was running fine and this is a dedicated machine.

No error log in the config folder.

    Log offers no clues.

Left click on "My Computer" and then select manage.
Click on event viewer and then look at application and system.
You may find something in those logs to give you some clue about it. Look for entries at or before the time in question.

      Mystery

Thank you. Found some interesting error messages having to do with a printer on the network, but I'm not sure why. Will continue to investigate.

You may also have a handle leak. Take a look at this thread and check your handle count over time.

Happened again, but this time an error log

Unfortuntately, the upload of the zip file fails preventing me from attaching it. Is there a trick to that?

I've tried to just paste it in to this field twice but it didn't post.

How big is the file... If you scroll through the response you get it might say something like "attachments larger than 1mb" or something like that.

If that's the case, you might have to break it up into several that are smaller. Its a pain, I know

                      Plug In

I wasn't doing anything when the error occurred.

I was 400 miles away sleeping in a motel with no Internet if you can believe that. And I can't really access on my BlackBerry storm.

did the plugin stop working because of this?

the error you posted from 3/20 was generated from submitting one of the webpages within the plugin.

                          Polling

I have no idea why it stopped working. All I know is that it does from time to time. Normally there hasn't been an error message.

Most devices have the number a number between 5 and 10 in the polling box but several are set for zero since they are off line - used for Christmas lights etc.

I guess what I'm after is when did the plugin stop working? was it right after the error you

do you see any msgs like the following in the rest of the log after the error:

Received STX 0x50 (means the plugin recvd an inbound msg)
                            ..Got RF PLM Response 02 62 1A 60 65 0A 19 00 06 (means the plm sent an outbound msg)

                              Correction

I was travelling when this all took place. In looking at the logs, the system shutdown on it's own Monday afternoon around 4:30 PM.

Now that I look at the calendar, this error message was generated the following day.

May not be connected. The mystery shutdowns have been leaving no error messages so I was happy to see one, but didn't realize the date difference until you probed further.

                              My apologies.
