            Sensor 2420M's Endless Loop

            Mark,

I'm seeing any 2420M sensor I update or add to my system beginning an endless loop of timing out and turning off, only to trigger back on a second or two later. I tried removing them and adding them back without any linked switches or events, and still they are getting into this endless loop. This was in the latest version of HS2 with latest Insteon plugin. I bit the bullet and upgraded to HS3 with latest HS3 Insteon plugin, but same thing is happening. Not sure what changed to be causing this issue. Appreciate any input you may have.

I uninstalled HS3 and retried from scratch in HS2Pro. Even with the sensor in a drawer (so there could be no light changes or movement), the sensor kept seeing movement as soon as the timer ran out on the last activity and it switched to "no motion" then back to "motion." Again, this is without any linked devices tied to it or any events. I had to pull the batteries from all the sensors because they were going non-stop.

Below is the log of the activity in the HS2Pro environment for the "Master Closet Sensor":

No. the Sage insteon tstat plugin is still required.

the hs2 and h3 plugins are substantially the same in terms of functionality except for where hs3 has additional capabilities for plugins.

chris what version of the plugin where you using before you noticed the issue? I know people where having problems with the 'read settings' feature and so they set the MS polling to 0 to disable this.

also, did you try a factory reset on the MS?

                  RE: Sensor 2420M's Endless Loop

                  Mark,

I was using HS2-Pro with version 2.0 of your plugin, which I believe is when I first saw the issue. I switched over to HS3 Beta and purchased your new plugin and still saw the issue, so I've switched back to HS2-Pro as HS3 lacks some (ready for prime time) functionality I need for now. I did factory reset all the problematic motion sensors, but still had issues. I'll try setting polling on the sensors to 0 and see if that has any affect.

                  Chris

Any way to copy existing Hub devices to new HS3 Insteon plugin?

I have had the Insteon hub running for some time, with scenes and devices already set up. I don't suppose there is a simple way to get these copied into the database for the Insteon plugin to us, is there?

chris, what version of the plugin were you using prior to v2.0 that worked or didn't exhibit the behavior you originally mentioned

Also, can you tell me the fw ver of the MS? I think there is a fw bug in some of the newer ones

                        Black Friday HS3PRO savings

Just picked up my HS3PRO upgrade during black Friday savings. After installing on a test system found that the Insteon PLM plugin requires an upgrade which I'm happy to pay for as you've done great work with this plugin. Appreciate all your efforts Mark. Thanks!

I realize that many people are going to hang onto hs2 for some time.

I for one can't run hs3; still waiting on several plugins. One of which is my alarm plugin which i haven't started yet.
Which alarm plugin are you referring to? Wouldn't be Napco by chance?

                              Hi Mark,
I am using an insteon I/O linc In HS3.
I have a float sensor wired up to the input of the linc.
I have a fill valve solenoid hooked up to the output of the linc.

I use this to auto fill my pool. Theory is if the float is off, for at least 1 hour, then turn on the fill valve for 20 minutes.

I only allow this to run once a day, when I am home, and only if the float is off for more than 1 hour.

My question is what is the "CUSTOM VALUE" of the I/O linc to tell HS3 the float is on or off?

Sage threads have gone dormant, and with your plugin supporting everything "except thermostats" I dont see any logic as to not support them with the insteon plugin. There are a few old timer HS guys not overly happy about the current lack of insteon theremostat support in HS3 - and would really like to see this fast tracked into development ASAP.
