I'm building and selling some RGB LED strip kits based on Raspberry Pi and the Hyperion software. They integrate nicely with HomeSeer thanks to the Hyperion plugin

    A kit includes:

    - Raspberry Pi model B+ or 2
    - Raspberry Pi black case
    - SD card 8 GB
    - Digital RGB LED Strip LPD8806 ( 32 LED / meter)
    - Power supply capable of powering both the strip and the pi
    - Cables and connectors needed to assembly the whole thing

Everything comes assembled and all the softwares are preinstalled and configured.

The price depends on the length of the strip:
    5 meter strip kit: $200
    4 meter strip kit: $185
    3 meter strip kit: $170
    2 meter strip kit: $155
    1 meter strip kit: $140
    + shipping

The Raspberry Pi can also be used as a media center and Airplay speaker since it comes with Raspbmc (a XBMC/Kodi distribution for the Pi)

Optionnally I can add a USB WiFi module to connect the Pi via WiFi rather than ethernet or use different kind of LED strips.

Is it possible to add more length to the strips or cut the strips shorter later on? Can 1 pi control more than one strip in more than one location?

I think your pricing is very fair and I'm very interested!

      Thanks!

If I don't provide the Pi and the SD card, I can't install the needed softwares, connect the Pi to the strip and to the power supply, and make sure everything work together which is the point of providing the whole kit.

Anyway if you don't want the Pi, case and SD card, subtract $70 to the prices.

yes it is possible to add more length by plugging or soldering the strips together. It is also possible to cut the strips in smaller section later on.

The key is to get the correct power supply, for this kind of strip you need about 2 Amp per meter.
Also if you change the length of the strip, you will have to change the hyperion configuration on the pi, but I can show you how to do that.

no, the strip needs to be directly connected to the pi.
