    CO2 sensor with wifi

    Hi guys

check this C02 sensor (not making money of it )
    http://vair-monitor.com
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281890179126

there is also a version with a small lcd screen

it has got wifi and can upload to a site.
I got in contact with him and he made the upload url flexible so you can upload every x seconds (adjustable) to for example 192.168.1.10:8080
very easy to use in Homeseer

    Hi all,

I bought a slightly different version of this CO2 monitor (http://shop.vair-monitor.com/index.p...product_id=124) which is intended to be used with HA systems. It was easy to set up, and Vladimir, the developer of it, is very responsive to emails. To configure it, just hook it up via USB and he provides a simple config utility with which you can set the WiFi parameters and the JSON command needed to get the data into HomeSeer (http://192.168.1.xxx/JSON?request=co...=1234&value=%s). It's easy to update the firmware on it as well.

I had looked at building one of these myself, but the sensor alone is around $30 so this was a pretty good deal.

Here are some screen shots of my HS config for it:

Just a suggestion, but one way you could use this is to enable the HVAC fan mode when the master bedroom CO2 level is above a certain level, then turn the fan back to Auto when the CO2 level drops to a "healthy" level.

I usually close my bedroom doors at night and CO2 build up could be an issue during times of the year that the HVAC isn't running much. Turning on the fan mode would redistribute air throughout the house and lower the CO2 in areas where it is concentrated.

I recently bought the vThings CO2 Monitor (the "Home Automation" version with Wifi and the better NDIR sensor) and I love it. Setup is so easy, just plug in to a computer with Chrome and run the config utility. Setup the WiFi, set the update interval and the custom JSON string and your done! And I really like the easy way of firmware updates "Over The Air".

It works directly (it needs two minutes to warm up, but I didn't see a real difference after startup) and only needs a micro-USB power adapter. If you are looking for a simple and (cost) effective way to monitor carbon dioxide and include it in HS3, this is the one to get!

Just sharing my experience, I have no interest in this company whatsoever.

Looks quite interesting, can I ask what plugin is used to bring it into HS?

                  cheers.

did not realize sparkman was setting a virtual via json using ref id.

                          Just got my sensor.
But don't know how to connect it to homeseer.
In the chrome setup page I can select Homeseer.
But what do I fill in at Host, Port %CO2%
And how do I get the readings in Homeseer?

Looks like this has multiple sensors. I'm guessing you would manually need to create 6 devices similar as to what I show in post #2, and then put the reference id's for those devices in where it says IDX.

                            Cheers
