    Error activating Harmony Hub

Been using MeiHarmony for a while and it stopped working. I have deleters and added back the plugin a few times with no success. I am getting the following log error when I try and enable my hub. I am using just one hub with it. See log excerpt below. Need help solving this.

    Thanks in advance

    Bob

I am also having this issue. I just changed the IP address of my hub and tried to re-add it. I am not seeing any of the devices or scenes and every time I try to add the hub I get that error:

I have been trying to delete and re-install the plugin and cannot get it to work. I was able to get some more information from the logs and have pasted it below. Any help would be appreciated:

Just another update. I have another hub in another room (Master Bedroom) and was able to add it successfully. This hub has never been added to HS before. I then rebooted the original hub (Family Room) and changed the IP address and still getting the same error messages. It is something specific to the Family Room hub that is the problem. This hub originally had an IP address of 192.168.1.x and I changed the IP address range on my LAN to 192.168.9.x.

I am not sure if there is an old configuration in the plugin that is interfering but I am not sure what else to try at this point.

Can you please post your config file or pm it to me? It is in the HomeSeer install directory under config/MeiHarmonyHub/hspi_meiharmonyhub_knownhubs.json.

Hi @sirmeili. Were you able to look at my config file?

I had a chance to do some more troubleshooting today and here is what I found.

                1. I removed both hubs from the config page and restarted the plugin. I also
manually deleted all devices associated with the MeiHarmony plugin

                2. When the plugin restarted, I noticed a "MeiHarmony root" device was created in the home screen of HS3

                3. I then added the working hub (Master Bedroom Hub) and saw another device created named "Master Bedroom Hub Hub" ( I set this name in the harmony software)

                4. I then enabled the master BR hub and saw that the status changed to "Connected"

                5. I then added the problematic hub (Family Room Hub). No device was created on the home screen and the log started with the same errors as before.

It seems that the plugin cannot create a device for the Family Room Hub and that is where the problem starts. This hub was the first one that I started with when I purchased the plugin and was working fine before. I am wondering if there is some ghost device related to it and that is the reason the plugin cannot create a new device. I have tried doing a "show all" devices from the home screen and searching but cannot find a device that is associated with MeiHarmony.

                Still at a loss here.

EDIT: Also wanted to add that when adding the Family Room Hub to the plugin, I can see in the logs that it does successfully add. The errors come when enabling the hub.

hmmm...Ok, so it found the hub, which means it successfully connected the first time. Can you turn on debug logging and try and enable it again and send me the logs? I need to see where it is erroring out.

Edit: Also, do you have the hub on a static IP or a reserved ip on your router? it is possible it has changed IPs.

Can you send me a screenshot of your general settings for the plug-in?

Also, it appears to connect, but then fails, but I'm getting a generic message. I may need to add some more debug logging around that to see what the error message is. I can do that tonight. I may want to send you a special version of the plugin which logs all communication so I can see what is going back and forth (I generally turn this off because it is a lot of data).

Sure. See below. I also tried shutting down the plugin and then restarting with with both hubs enabled. You can see in the logs that the Master Bedroom Hub is found and connects successfully, but the Family Room hub does not. Specifically there is an entry in the HS3 log that shows the plugin looking for a root device for the MasterBR hub then finding it. I do not see the same message for the FamRM hub

Here is the HS3 log showing where I started the plugin with both hubs enabled:

Can you change the time between reconnects to 5000, and the request timeout to 10000. The settings you have are from the non-beta and I've increased them over time to work better with most peoples setups and networks.

Once you adjust those, I would shut down the plug-in and start it back up.

I adjusted those settings but the same failure occurs. Is there a way to cleanly remove the plugin and all associated files with it? Then I could try to re-install the beta version and see if that helps.

Also if you want to send me a new build later that would be fine.

stop the plugin and remove the the plugin.

Then go to your homeseer install directory and remove the following directories and their contents:

                              \[homeseerdir]\Config\MeiHarmonyHub\
                              \[homeseerdir]\bing\MeiHarmonyHub\

you can remove the MeiHarmonyHub in the HTML directory as well, but it's not absolutely necessary.
