    Keypadlinc Toggle Issue

    Hi Mark,
I'm up and running on HS3. I'm running 3.0.64. I have a KPL with two buttons set to "Non toggle off". When I press the buttons I get:

Dec-25 3:44:44 PM Insteon Received 19.41.F9:8 (Kitchen Button H Volume Down) Go OFF
Dec-25 3:44:27 PM Insteon Received 19.41.F9:7 (Kitchen Button G Volume Up) Go OFF

However, I can't trigger any events (or in the new parlance, use them as IF statements and have them fire) with the button pushes. I use these buttons to raise and lower the volume on my sonos system by a fixed amount.

In HS2, the button worked fine using the trigger "Set to Any".

Further, when I try to Save the device in HS3, I get an error:
"Kitchen Sonos Control KPL (left) (19.41.F9) buttons programming failed."

Here is the relevant section of the ini file:

    Jono,
have you tried the insteon special triggers instead of the standard hs triggers? The plugin doesn't fire HS triggers.

as for the kpl programming, what change were you trying to make when you got this result?

I just changed to Insteon Special triggers and it is now working as it should.
Do I need to use Insteon Special triggers whenever a KPL is triggering an event, or does it apply to any switch?

As for the KPL, I was originally just updating the name when I got the error message.

Thanks as always for your help. Please let me know if I can send anything along to help with the can't save issues.
      Happy holidays

I would use insteon special triggers whenever possible.

changing the name should generate programming issues. if you can post a detailed log snippet of the transaction, i'll take a look.

Here is the detailed log of trying to save. BTW these are for KEYPADLINC, I don't know what I was thinking when I put triggerlinc in the title. I will try to edit that.

did the device name change save?

not sure what is causing the programming fail msgs.

With this new version, the plugin checks for required programming changes during the 'save' routine and only runs those routines if necessary. In other words, if programming isn't necessary, it will not execute them.

Yes the device name was saved. So the only actual problem is the apparently faulty error message. "Kitchen Sonos Control KPL (left) (19.41.F9) buttons programming failed."
This only appears to happen on my KPLs.
Other devices I can change the name and there is no error message.

                Non-Toggle OFF

Is there something that needs enabled to be able to program a KeypadLinc button to be able to be set to Non-Toggle OFF mode? I only see Toggle, and Non-Toggle ON as available button modes...

                Thanks in advance,

                A

non-toggle off is no longer supported on KPLs with fw 41+

as a work aorund: you can use the non-toggle On and set the responder's on level to (Off or 0) to get the same effect.

Thanks Mark. Is there a shortcut or easy way to create a group for All Devices OFF for a keypad button? I want to achieve an ALL Lights OFF with one press of a keypad button.

                    Thanks,

no real shortcut. you will need to create an insteon group, assign the kpl btn as the controller, and then select the off level for all the participant devices you want to control.
