    good deal. if the links reappear,then from the config page please generate a support log, and see if you can find any evidence that the plugin recreated the links

      The bad links did not recreate themselves until I refreshed the device links on the Manage Devices page. After I selected 'Update programing on all new and updated devices', the Bad Link Entry, unreferenced group # messages reappeared.

      One thing I noticed prior to performing this action is that on the Main Insteon Configuration Page the "You have 254 unused outbound link addresses out of 254 total available" stated that there were 214 unused outbound links, which I'd never seen before. It was always as it states above.

      Where do I post the Insteon Error Report.log file? It won't upload in the file attachment section.

        i'll have to check the logic on the routine your ran. I don't use it myself. delete the unreferenced group links again. but don't run that routine afterwards

        the outbound info captures links from the plm to KPLs, groups, etc. Its just for reference.

          can you enabled detailed logging on the plugin config page, and then run the 'program device for homeseer' on the following device within the plugin:

          [Device 4]
          DeviceID=0C.F0.8C
          DeviceName=Floor Lamp (Front Door)
          DeviceLocation=Hall

          if the bogus link gets created, then post the log snippet for the programming transaction

            I did what you said and the bogus links were not recreated.

            While deleting the bad link entries, I noticed that they all existed within KPL devices, of which I have four that function (plus one dead one that won't communicate but still have local control). Three of the working KPLs had the rogue links and one did not.

            There is a common denominator which I am now wondering if it's the cause. The KPL that does not have bad links has control over several buttons on the other three KPLs. I did this for syncing purposes originally.

            Here is the link table from the KPL that has no bogus links.

              Bill,
              I think you are onto something, but the unregistered links are related to the plm id which is confusing. links between kpls won't have the plm id within the data.

              please delete the [group 0] section in the insteon.ini. maybe the plugin is trying to rebuild links for this.

                Mark, I don't see a [Group 0] entry in insteon.ini. Please advise.

                I'm going to delete all those inter-button links and see if that fixes it. I want to create groups anyway. I'm just wondering about button/device status syncing. It doesn't seem to work well with device status change by event or manually; perhaps it will if the responder buttons are controlled by grouping. ??

                  Nevermind on the group 0 issue.

                  the plugin attempts to sync hs devices when it receives inbound insteon msgs, and when the plugin transmits a message.

                  please post a pic of the event that the plugin are having trouble syncing the hs devices when run. I'll see if the scenario is covered.

                    Hey
                    this is very similar to what i had a year ago.
                    it happened almost every night at 3-4 am were all my devices in the house turned on at once.
                    i mean everything.... projector screen and elevator, all the shades, lights .....

                    i found out that the UPS that i connected my homeseer computer and ADSL router was very near the HUB (on the other side of the network cupboard but still).
                    i am guessing it made the HUB send a "full on " frantic..
                    hope this helps

                      I would like to have a go at deleting the 'Global Insteon' "device", but I'm a bit chickens**t. I don't want to do any more damage than I've already done, if you know what I mean.

                        I would suggest just deleting the global links from the devices and leave the group device as is.

                        the global link will be recreated the next time you reprogram the device.
