Detecting a Missing Sensor

Is there any way to detect when a temperature sensor is no longer reporting temperatures?

I see there is a message generated in the log, but the HS temperature device itself shows no indication of any problem.

Would it be possible to have a value/status pair that represents a communications error, perhaps after no new values have been read after x number of checks?

No way of detecting it today via the HomeSeer device. I'll add this as a feature request. I was thinking a valid of -9999 to indicate a sensor reading error.
