I cannot seem to get the "Fan Mode" to change from Auto to On or vice-versa though.

Ironically, Lock control doesn't appear to be the same. Setting up the Root Device for my Z-Wave locks did not have the same effect as the Thermostat.

So what action can you achieve with your stat now?

I can now set the temp setting and the mode (cool, heat, auto etc.) without issue. I cannot toggle the fan between auto and on.

Can anyone ask Alexa “What’s the temperature inside?”

When I do it says the temp is 156.2!

This v3 api enable the color change from voice.

wiill it be possible to change the color on the go with voice( i mean echo of course) with HS3 soon ? Let say with a z wrgb bulb?

Cuz ...i do not see myselft creating 300 events to change the color of a light bulb haha... ( it would be possible to manage the number of events... this with JonOo alexa helper... but that's not an optimal solution)

we need a wrgb plugin :P

I'll share my experience but it may not be useful for you. I have more than one ecobee 3 in the house on different zones, and the ecobee skill is also enabled even though the ecobee are also discovered via the HS skill.

When I ask "what is the temperature inside in the Sitting Room" I get back...

"The Sitting Room temperature is 72 degrees."

I'm not sure if it queried the ecobee skill device or the HS skill device.

Make sure your temp scales all match between the thermostat, HomeSeer, and the echo app.

I don't have an iOS device to test with here.

Working with Wade on this issue and the resolution for me was simple: Change my Control Use from Dim to Not Specified. The thing appears to be that only one value or range value can be set to "Dim" as the Control use. This didn't affect my events at all so I am good do go on the dimming issue and it is resolved as Alexa can now dim again all of my lighting.

That said, some of the request values are not translating properly. For example, if I ask Alexa to set the dim level to 20, HS will set the dim to 21. Wade is looking in to that and believes there is just a scaling issue with maybe a rounded value causing the verbal request to translate to a value off by one or so.

All of mine are set to F and I still have the 156 degree answer from Alexa when asking my kitchen echo.
