Doesn't seem to work for me, I have a 2013 model (65W850A) and I'm unable to enable simple IP control, there is no option. I use simple control with homeseer and their plugin works although I'm trying to move away. Looks to me like the simple IP control API wasn't implemented until 2014.

Might I be missing something? All I need is power on and off, I suppose I can use RS232, but IP is so clean

    Thanks - Tristan

you are probably right, the document that described the API doesn't say precisely which models are supported, but it explicitly mentions "BRAVIA 2014 models".

I'm unable to get connected. I have simple IP enabled and I've tried restarting HS3, but no dice. Here is the error message from the log file:

ERROR System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.168.5.113:20060 at System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient..ctor(String hostname, Int32 port) at SonyTV.Net.SonyTVClient..ctor(String serverAddress, Int32 serverPort) at HSPI_SonyTV.SonyTVApp.InitSonyTVClient()

I got this figured out finally... Sort of. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the plugin multiple times, and double/triple checked the network connection but still couldn't connect. I was able to connect to the internet from the TV just fine and could watch Netflix, so I ruled out network issues.

On a whim I decided to try pinging the TV and didn't get any response back, even though it was connected to the internet. Double checked all the Ubiquity firewall settings again and even set up port forwarding on 20060 just to be sure. Which led to me scanning the TV's IP address for any/all open ports. There were none. Made no sense. So that led me to rebooting the TV several times and messing with the network connection setup. I finally got the idea to delete the "saved" connections from the TV and then set it back up manually to the exact same settings. For whatever reason it connected to the plugin and life is good now. An IP scan on the TV now turns up quite a few open ports.

Not sure if there is a bug in the TV's firmware or what, but wanted to pass this along in case you run into it again in the future.

Would this also work with Bravias from 2013 which doesn't have android OS?
