unable to run events with more than one word

has anyone encountered an issue where Alexa can't run events that have more than one word in the name?

The skill can handle multiple word event names and phrases.

What was the event name, and what was the response?

Was there something in the logs?

You should be able to see in the logs what the echo heard and sent over.

so for example, I have an event called "Speak hallway temperature"
she says "do you want me to run the event speak hallway temperature?"
you respond Yes, and she says "OK, running the event Speak"

What exactly is the result you are trying to accomplish?

From the logs it looks like your trying to get HS3 to respond to your echo.

I don't have an event called Speak, but I do have another event that's called Speak Kitchen Temperature that is similar to this Speak Hallway Temperature Event.
I have attached a screenshot of the event. It simply speaks a device variable on a few speaker clients even when I run it without the Kinnect trigger.
