    mini-itx board help

    Ok so I have acquired a machine but no power adapter. I am new to the mini-itx world...

    so what do i need to get this puppy fired up?

    the power plug is a small circle style as the power supply must of been external. Cant identify the case but when opening it up .. there is where the round plug that goes to a circuit board then the standard motherboard plugs to the mobo for power. Trying to see how i can determine the power supply needed or if there is a unit i can buy to swap out (cheaply) to use this...

    Drives - 120gb ssd / 500gb sata 2.5

    this thing would fit nicely in my entertainment center!!!!

      Going to need any make/model/reference numbers on the small circuit board the power jack goes into or see if you can identify it from somewhere like http://www.mini-box.com/DC-DC - that's whats going to be changing the input power to the standard ATX power socket. I'd hazard a guess at it will be either 12 or 19V 10A or so but that's guessing - there are auto detecting power supplies out there also which will do the hard work for you.

          I used an old laptop power supply with a Pico PSU like the ones mrhappy and Blade linked. They work great!
          HS4Pro on a Raspberry Pi4
          54 Z-Wave Nodes / 21 Zigbee Devices / 108 Events / 767 Devices
          Plugins: Z-Wave / Zigbee Plus / EasyTrigger / AK Weather / OMNI

          HSTouch Clients: 1 Android

            I'm guessing a 19V supply as well. I have a mini ITX case that has a 19V/6.3A supply. These are similar to those used by a lot of laptops: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...=31FHAXX1CNZHV

              All my (graveyard) Mini-ITX cases with similar PSU boards ran on 12V rather than 19V. I suggest you try 12V first rather than going direct to 19V.

                tried a dell 20w 3.5A.. no dice.. my biggie is that I do not know if it works. dont want to drop a ton on something to just give it a try...

                      In that case it is Jon00 1 - Me 0, you need a 12V adaptor...one with some current behind it.
