    Norton Firewall

    My Norton firewall kills BLLogMonitor. What is the program name I need to enter into the rules?
    HS4Pro on Windows 10
    One install with 2 Ethernet Z-nets
    2nd install with 1 Ethernet Z-net
    300 devices, 250 events, 8 scripts
    6 CT-100 tstats
    Serial IT-100 interface to DSC Panel with 8 wired zones
    18 Fortrezz water sensors & two valve controls

    Aieehhhh!! I have been working the past hour to install BLLogmonitor on my HS3 system through a Norton firewall. I approved the hspi download and confirmed it is in the HS3 directory. I excluded the program from scans and otherwise approved it to run. But everytime I enable it, I get this message: "WARNING: Failed getting InterfaceStatus from BLLogMonitor - the interface was not found in the list of active interfaces, the list may need to be refreshed."

    The log seems to report all is well:

    What am I missing?

      IMO Norton has got to the worst firewall I have ever used.
      I only use the Windows firewall. I use ESET for virus scanning.

      Have you Have you tried restarting HS3?

        Yes to restart. I just got this message on the HS Web screen at startup

        Starting up....

        1/19/2016 6:00:04 PM ~!~Error~!~Error, Class not found in plugin EXE, maybe namespace is not correct,? Note filename is case sensitive!: hspi_bllogmonitor.exe Class: hspi_bllogmonitor.HSPI->Startup Complete, 1 errors detected, check the log for more information.

          Norton must have blocked the EXE from installing
          Try disabling Norton completely, then install it again

              Yea Norton is not the best software to use. I just use the Windows firewall and never have an issue. ESET is a great virus scanner too.

                Login error

                Hi Bob, the 2.08 update failed at login with this message. Feb-04 7:17:35 AM Error Starting plug-in exe process: The system cannot find the file specified

                I tried twice to post this message from an iPad on your help desk, but despite completing all 5 fields for a new user registration, the screen would clear my entries and tell me I must complete all 5 fields?!?

                  Your firewall software or virus scanner is likely removing it
                  Disable them before you update it

                    Hi Bob, I finally circled back to this. I have the 2.08 version running on my computer now. BLLOGMONITOR is currently monitoring C:\program files\homeseer HS3\logs\homeseerlog.HSD. Is that the live log or do I need to add another log file to monitor? If so, what is the name of that log file? Also, for testing, is there a simple way to induce an error into the running log file?

                      You do not want to monitor the HS log file itself.
                      Just enable the HomeSeer Log in the options page
                      Make sure you are running the latest build
