Bob, anytime I start up hs3 I get an error on each of your plugins about database compacting failing. I will get a capture of it next time I start it up.

Yes capture the error and post it.

Check post #4.. it may pertain to your error (not sure as I have not seen the error)

Seems like the 2nd option seems to be working for everyone
      Cheers,
      Bob

What error do you get? Can you paste the error here and tell when it happens (what button you pressed)
        Bob,

I do nto see any error, but using a device code or address is not saved on the page. Filling in a code and saving the change brings me back to the start page of configuration. After that I have to choose directories again to see if my change was saved. Everything I changes is save, except the device code. Maybe the plugin misses the check on the webpage?

Next i created a timed event to start the backup. After filling all the fields (which directory to backup, where to put the files etc) I cannot choose to collapse the event as if there is some information missing.
Choosing to run thiss newely created event also gives an error, but a backup is created anyway:

          Try this:

          1. Delete that event
          2. Turn on debug logging in BLBackup (it is on the options web page)
          3. Create the event again and run it.
          4. Turn off debug logging

Put in a help desk ticket on my web site (see signature) and attach the debug log ZIPPED.
Make sure to put the proper HS version when adding the ticket so I know it is for HS3.

I can then have a look and see what is going on
          Cheers,

                  Bob,

I am a new BLRadar user trying to get it to work on HS3....

I am creating a new motion sensor using a mcsxap created device that is replicated from my HS2 system, so I want to use a virtual device to track it in BLRadar. How do I reference a virtual device? I created a device with a device code of B9 but that doesn't work. What is the correct syntax of the virtual device reference in BLRadar?

                  Thanks,
                  Bill

When you assign the device to BLRadar there is an option for you to enter a virtual device. When you do this then all updates to the sensor will be done to the virtual device code and not the original code.

I got that, but what do I actually put in the virtual device code field? I have tried everything, starting with the device code (b9) then the address which is motion-b9, the name, the name with the room. I even tried the ref id, and all I get is this error: "Virtual device code must exist in HomeSeer!"

You can use the device code or the address. The device must already exist in HS3
Case used to matter in HS2, not sure about HS3. Try the same case as the device you created.
If it still does not work then turn on debug logging in the options web page and capture the issue, then disable debug logging.
The log a help desk ticket on my site (see signature) and attach the debug log zipped.
                        I will have a look

The device ID is case sensitive. When I used B9 it worked.

                          Some other things I've noticed...

Unlike HS2, in HS3 a device ID is not required. BLRadar lets you add a motion sensor without one, but then the sensor doesn't show up in the sensor list and other things don't work right.

The sound file associated with motion on/off seems to be backwards. If I put it in the ON location, it is played for OFF, and the other way around.

I tried adding some UDMC and I am getting this error in the log:

Error Compiling script BLRadar\BLRadar_MotionSensor6952On.vb: Type 'HomeSeerAPI.PluginAccess' is not defined.

I set up virtual devices, but on the actual devices, the string is getting set to something like this:

Check Sensor? (735034 days, 13 hrs, 22 mins, 23 secs)

I tried setting the string to a null string with SetDeviceString, but it eventually reverts to the Check Sensor text.

                          Bill

Make sure you are using the latest build from the Updater.

I will have a look into the issue for you and let you know

This will get you by the one issue with the PluginAccess Not Defined but there is still another issue I am working out.

                                1. Shutdown HS
                                2. Edit the settings.ini file in config folder
                                3. Add this line to the file under the [Settings] section

                                ScriptingReferences=HomeSeerAPI;HomeSeerAPI.dll

                                4. Save the file
                                5. Restart HS

The next error you will see is likely this:

Running script BLRadar\BLRadar_MotionSensor4391Off.vb :Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.->Does entry point Main exist in script?

I will let you know once I have the other worked out.
