    Read temp08 with Arduino

    Hi all,

Since I have already an Arduino that retrieves serial data from my main AC counter and sends it to Homeseer over Ethernet, I would like to setup something equivalent to read and transmit the TEMP08 data.
This is to get rid of a Quatech QSE-100 serial to ethernet converter, that might not be suitable for Windows10 and later.

After many tests, all I can read from the TEMP08 with the Arduino, using standard (9600,n,8,1) communication setup, is garbled, and I could not find any way to have it readable.

Is someone familiar with this ?
The script for reading the TEMP08 with Homeseer, or the connection with hyperterminal were so straight-through ,
but that was YEARS ago ....

Is your HomeSeer computer Windows 10? I have a Temp08 unit hooked up to my HomeSeer Windows 10 computer and am able to read the output from the Com port with no problem. I am using Putty since HyperTerminal is no longer included with Windows.

      bdraper,
I have no problem reading the serial data with a PC and Homeseer, what I want is to read it with an Arduino, but could not get it...
