Does anyone know if Yale Push-Button Door locks can work with a Left Handed Door?
I need to place the lock on the right side of a door, with the deadbolt moving to the right to 'engage/lock'. This is essentially 'upside-down' vs. 'normal' installations where the lock is installed on the left side of the door. (This installation type is described & illustrated in the Kwickset install guide linked below.)
I've checked Yale's docs and website and cannot find any mention of it. This is the specific lock that I'm looking at: http://store.homeseer.com/store/Yale...P1078C184.aspx
Kwickset has a special feature called "automatic bolt direction detection", which is described on page 5 of their "installation guide". (http://www.homeseer.com/pdfs/Kwikset...tion-Guide.pdf )
This made me wonder how other locks determine the direction of the bolt travel, and if they can work on a left-side door.
I appreciate any advice anyone can give, as I really want to buy that Yale lock - but need to make sure it will work on my door.
Thanks,
Robert.
