    Need help with Nest Event

I am trying to set up a simple event to alert me any time a thermostat setting changes but I can't get it to work right. The event simply reads:

IF Nest Office Thermostat (Furnace) just had its value set or changed.

Then Speak Office Thermostat has been changed

This results in the announcement being spoken about 8 times in a row.

If I set the event to cannot re-run for 10 seconds it stops the repeats but the message will trigger just from somebody walking by and waking up the display... or just randomly sometimes.

    Plugin version is 3.0.0.19

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

try to use "the device has a value that just changed" for your trigger.

It doesn't trigger at all after I make that change. Went back to the other trigger and am now only getting 1 extra repeat but not comfortable that it won't start going crazy again.

what settings are you trying to monitor?

if you want to get a message when the setpoint changes then you need to choose the target temperature device in your trigger

IF Nest Thermostat Target Temperature has a value that just changed
        THEN...

If you choose the root device (like it seems to be the case from your example) it doesn't work because this device value never changes unless the thermostat goes offline.

Thanks. I knew it was something obvious I was overlooking!
