Use 22 for SSH
    80 is fine for web.

      @Rob-AVPMan...

      You can if you want just keep SSH open and proxy the web interface (modify your browser to using loopback address and proxy port).

      IE:

      ssh -D 8888 rootoruser@WANIPADDRESS

      Change the default autoproxy on your browser to loopback with port 8888.

      Then just browse to the local HS3 IP / port remotely. This way you only keep one port open. (also modded sshd / iptables / longer password on host because of some brute force attempts)

              I think Jim is good to go. I SSH'ed into his Zee and found that he had a /usr/local/HomeSeer folder that was under /usr/local/HomeSeer

              I removed that folder and all HAI-related plugin files and re-installed. It seems to be working correctly now.

              Jim - yell back if you need anything else.

                Kudos to rmasonjr for going above and beyond to fix this.

                Just as an aside the problem happened after I cleared and did a factory reset on the ZEE. Likely a problem with the HS recovery firmware. If I'm brave enough I may try the restore again and see if I run into the same problem. Or maybe I'll just report it to HS so they can try and replicate.

                  Good news Jim!!!

                  @Rob; so then HomeSeer was installed in two directories?

                  IE: /usr/local/HomeSeer/usr/local/HomeSeer
