Hello, was curious if there are any "must have" plug ins for HS3. I know Vera has PLEG and Smartthings has CORE, is there a corresponding "everyone should get it" for HS?

Otherwise it would depend on your setup. Mine includes Lutron Caseta and Philips Hue lighting (JowiHue) so for me those were must have.
So the "must have" would depend on your personal requirements and interest in how far you want to take your automation.
If you have questions on what Plugins would match to functions to SmartThings or Vera then ask. I still run a Vera Plus for Zigbee device support and I used to run SmartThings (still active in community as well).

'BLBackup' is a free plug-in that can automatically make backup copies of key files. I use it to backup my entire HS directory every night, as well as other HS-related files.
I'd also recommend a plug-in that provides a way to programmatically restart HS and/or reboot the HS server. 'Restart' by CFGuy and 'BLShutdown' are two that come to mind. Both are free.Mike____________________________________________________________ __________________

Am not a plugin basher!
Am Just a Media and automation guy! ===> Now you have already starting to get the idea!
Ok here goes
MQTT Plugin : This one is easiest of the two but you have to create your own virtual devices in HomeSeer. I use it to connect to other systems like Node-RED, Kodi and Zwave server in that in that I don't have to do hard work because am not a coder
I set systems to trigger them selves .........etc I wrote about it in General discussion forum.
Now mcsMQTT : This one is the big daddy am trying infuse in my side project. I can't say so much about it but it's got its forum : ====> If you are into big data or data collection and /or machine learning and the like, kind of on an industrial scale, then there is not a better tool to use than this one. It can do what MQTT Plugin can do and then some!

I had the same question, though I don't care to address any particular plugin.

I have complex set up of servers ===> Node-RED mainly process MQTT topics to and from HomeSeer, Zwave server and then the Jeedom server ===> all connected via ethernet. So whatever device connected to any of them can be triggered from any server with the logic I set up.
Jeedom mainly provides virtual devices who's plugins are not easy come around
Kodi : Has an Mqtt2kodi plugin. I need not explain what you do with.
The rest could be anywhere on any of the servers.

Then I have a Mosquitto broker setup on a Raspberry Pi that receives all those messages and makes it available to the MQTT plug-in on HS. Inside HS they're simply seen as regular devices: switches, sensors, etc. and a fairly lengthy set of events controls their behaviour (e.g. single press turns on lamp, double press turns on fan, long-press toggles all lights on/off, etc)
So in summary, the MQTT plug-in is definitely one of my must-haves.

There are three features of EasyTrigger that I use most:
1) The toggle function. It's so much easier to control lights and other devices when you can tell them to toggle between two or three states rather than having to create separate events to turn on or turn off, etc.
2) The groups function. If I put all my upstairs lights in one group and my downstairs lights in another group (and many other combinations as necessary) I can check as a condition in an event whether all devices in that group are set to 0 (all off) or whether any of the devices is not 0 (some devices on) in one condition (rather than multiple conditions like you'd have to do without EasyTrigger) and then create a toggle event that will switch all the lights on (if they're all off), or switch all the lights off (if any of them are on).
3) The schedule. By default, HS can set a nighttime state by checking whether it's after sunset or before sunrise, but in winter I wake up for work way before sunrise, so I want to use a custom nighttime schedule that sees morning starting when I get up, and takes weekends into account. So now my event simple checks whether it's "Nighttime" (the schedule I named within EasyTrigger) or not before firing events.
