    IFTT/wi fi

    Hi all,

    Help appreciated

    StevieBoy,

I recommend you use the BLLAN plug-in (It's free!). Create a device for your computer/phone that connects, then use it's condition for a trigger.

Guys, thanks. Will give it a go. Anyone tried with an IPhone, as I'm sure you have to wake iPhones up as its not always looking for wifi , please correct me if I'm wrong!

Never found iPhones reliable for this sort of thing before.

Hah! Now that you mention it, I removed our Android phones from the BLLAN device list because they would randomly drop off and generate too many offline messages. My dual band router does some weird thing on the 5g channels with the signal coming up for about 5 seconds and then dropping out for 10. I assume it is a power save feature.

I have found that ithings don't respond to a ping when the screen is off.

Mmm, I guess that would be the case. Sounds as if I'm back to square one. Surely there's a demand for a reliable geofence app, tried a few but never been successful. The quest continues [emoji20]

Have you tried PHLocation? Works well for me.

                      +1

If you want to use it with a Geofencing app, Geofency works really well.

                      Cheers

Sparkman, thanks. Does this talk directly to HS or third party ?

                          Hi Steve,

Geofency talks to PHLocation, although you could set it up to talk directly to HS as well using json or a custom asp page. Using it with PHLocation makes it much easier.

                          Cheers

                            Sparkman,

                            Thanks,

I guess this is a script that runs via an event. Any of you guys tried it on Linux?

I have now migrated to the SEL pro.

Seem to recall using a similar PI on windows called find my phone but think that died due to lack of support.

                            Regards

No. PHLocation is a plugin. It's not in the updater though as it's free. It's absolutely the cat's meow. Check it: http://board.homeseer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1488
