That is odd why it would work for will40 and not you
Email me a debug log zipped of you trying it

S-F I struggled with it last year then created a new Google API project following Blade's posted instructions. They are a little outdated but easy enough to follow and figure out the changes.

Once I created the project with OAuth 2.0 client ID, added the plugin new user's API client ID and API secret key it just worked.
