    Oct-27 1:33:48 PM Warning Cannot access remote plugin tenScripting
    Oct-27 1:33:48 PM Info Plugin tenScripting with instance: has disconnected
    Oct-27 1:31:47 PM tenScripting InitIO called, plug-in is being initialized...
    Oct-27 1:31:47 PM Info Plugin tenScripting has connected. IP:192.168.0.110:60310

    Did I miss something obvious?

    My HS Server is located at xxx.xxx.xxx.109 not xxx.xxx.xxx.110, but I can't bring the connection dialog box up again to change this.

    Thanks
    Try to find the following file, something like: c:\Users\??????\AppData\Local\tenWare\tenScripting3.vshost.e xe_Url_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\3.20.0.0\user.config

    Edit it and change HsComputer.

    Let me know if this works.

      Thanks for the quick response.

      Edited the file using both 192.168.0.110 and 127.0.0.1 . This is on the same machine. By some chance should the port be something other than 80?

      tenScripting log reports 'connected, waited to be initialized', and that's it.

      P.S. Sorry for not looking at the posts more carefully; I'd have found the cfg file without bugging you had I been a bit more careful.

        Been playing with it with HomeSeer and tenScripting on same machine. Works great. Visited your youtube docs and found those extremely useful.

        Thanks!

            Copy 3 HS dlls from HS pc to dev pc. Remove current references from within tenScripting, and add references to copied dlls.

                  HELP

                  You only need to define a variable via DIM statement once.

                  Do this once:
                  Dim cc as HomeSeerAPI.CAPI.CAPIControl
                  Dim cr as HomeSeerAPI.CAPI.CAPIControlResponse

                  then you can do the following many times:
                  cc = hs.CAPIGetSingleControl(100, True, "Brightness (value)%", False, False)
                  cc.ControlValue = 35
                  cr = hs.CAPIControlHandler(cc)

                      Hi Ed:

                      New version works. I think it was operator error that was the problem, as I noticed that I had the incorrect version of scheduler.dll.

                      Thank you for your time and patience.

                            Option Strict --> On
                            Implicit Conversion --> Warning

                              WOTD Script

                              Another HS2 to HS3 project I have is with this script which is giving me this error when I run it in HS3
                              Compiling script wordOfTheDay_3.vb: Namespace or type 'System.Xml' has already been imported.
                              Oct-28 7:02:46 PM Error Compiling script wordOfTheDay_3.vb: Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'System.Core' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases.

                              Here is the script:
                              Public Sub Main(ByVal parm As Object)
                              Dim m_xmld As XmlDocument
                              Dim m_node As XmlNode
                              Dim Word As XmlNode
                              Dim Deff As XmlNode
                              Dim speakMsg As String = ""
                              Dim I As Integer
                              Dim attentionFileFolder As String = "wave\"
                              Dim attentionFile As String = "m304.wav"
                              Dim host As String = "Perseusefault"

                              hs.SetDeviceValueByRef(132, 1, True)

                              'folder\ filename|x|yyy where x= announcement type and yyy is volume"
                              attentionFile = attentionFileFolder & attentionFile
                              hs.RunScriptFunc("playMediaFile_3.vb", "Main", attentionFile & "|1|70", True, False)

                              m_xmld = New XmlDocument
                              m_xmld.Load("http://wordsmith.org/awad/rss1.xml")
                              Word = m_xmld.SelectSingleNode("rss/channel/item/title")
                              Deff = m_xmld.SelectSingleNode("rss/channel/item/description")

                              speakMsg = speakMsg & ("Today's word is, <silence msec='200'/>" & Word.InnerText & ".")
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & ("<silence msec='800'/>")
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & (Word.InnerText & ", is spelled, <silence msec='200'/>")

                              For I = 1 To Len(Word.InnerText)
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & (UCase(Mid(Word.InnerText, I, 1))) & ", . " & "<silence msec='300'/>"
                              Next

                              speakMsg = speakMsg & ("<silence msec='500'/>")
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & (Word.InnerText & "<silence msec='300'/>")
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & ("The definition is, <silence msec='500'/>" & Deff.InnerText)
                              speakMsg = speakMsg & ("<silence msec='600'/>" & Word.InnerText)
                              hs.Speak(speakMsg, True)
                              'speakMsg = Nothing
                              End Sub

                              I have tried adding System.Xml to the ScriptingReferences in settings.ini which did not change anything. tenScripting/Visual Studio doesn't find any problems with it.

                              Any ideas on how I can get it to work in HS3 would be much appreciated!!
