Lost Connection to all Z-Wave Nodes

I recently partially lost a connection to my Z-Wave Nodes. I can turn things on/off, but usually need to send multiple commands before the device responds. Multiple brands of lights switches/sensors. If I turn on a light, it doesn't say it's ON, it shows device unknown. If I try to do an Optimize, I get every node saying: "Done. The optimization was not executed as the node cannot be reached." However, return paths are shown. Even nodes that are 10 feet away from my Z-Wave controller Z-troller).

Everything was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. Recently updated HS3, but no new devices added or other changes.

If I go to a specific device and audit the node or test connectivity, it fails. But I still get occasional updates and I can turn devices on/off (just not responding well).

Any ideas? Have restarted everything multiple times - here's my startup log:

Have you tried to restart the ZWave interface and/or HomeSeer3 ?

What ZWave controller are you using?

Z-Troller. Is it possible it's being flaky/failing? I hate to buy a new one just on a whim...

Do you have batteries in it? If so unplug it from power and pull the batteries out then reconnect it leaving the batteries out and see if that helps.

That worked great. As soon as I removed the batteries and reset it, everything started working great, all nodes could be reached and respond. Thanks for the help. Now put the batteries back in and enjoy again...

You will find several posts about leaving the batteries out and you will have less problems. In fact I think HS suggests leaving them out. I always ran them with the batteries in, but I will say it was one of my worst troubleshooting experiences because I couldn't figure out what was going on and turned out I just needed to leave them out and unpowered for a few minutes. I no longer use my ztrollers, but did 99% of the time have the batteries in. So you might try it again with the batteries, but if you run into issues with it again try running for a while with the batteries out and see if that cures the problem.
