email problem

Could not get gmail to work in any configuration I tried. I suspect that Comcast has blocked something (again) without telling the users and that relays are not going to work.

I ended up setting up a free relay account on Mailjet. It works (sort of) but it is really slow in response. It isn't really fast enough to be used to push weather warnings from weatherXML. Pushover is my preferred method for notifications, but it isn't working from weatherXML and a couple of other apps don't offer it.

sending works but receiving generates a POP error:

Unable to connect to POP server(1) Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Read a lot of threads but can't pinpoint the issue

Curious if anyone has this issue, I suspect it started for me a week or so ago. I'm getting a "POP" error in the logs and no emails are coming from HS anymore (I did not change any configs).

I'm also noticing the "email send" settings seem to be missing??

I just updated to the latest version, but still having the same issue:

sorry I can't help with the send button missing in the settings. I am still on HS3 and do not have that button.

Send settings are still there on my HS4Pro (V4.2.13.0) email configuration settings. I am using them today (not with GMail).

Thank Pete, very interesting. I too am running HS4 Pro Edition 4.2.13.0 (Windows), but I don't see that (even when "use google" is unchecked). However, it's working now with the Google "app password" solution, so I'll just leave it as is (but it's still weird!)
