I noticed the "broken up" text when in a resolution higher than 640x480. What resolution are you running? Also how do you control your set top box (change the channel)? I am trying to figure out a way to do this with out having a remote in the kitchen.

I am running 800x600....I will try the lower resolution but from memory I think this was the best fit for me and the text is not that big a deal.
I have a USB-UIRT pointed at my STB and use an x10 keyfob remote in the kitchen. Volume I can do at the screen and I allocate eg D1 on/off for channel up/down. I set up an event triggered by x10 received to execute a channel up or down press from the UIRT. Still a remote in the kitchen but a least its small!!
