Massive delay to insteon devices via hs3

    Hey.
I am on the latest version on both homeseer and insteon plugin

It seems that most of the time there is a massive delay i commands from hs3 to the end point devices
I can start 2 devices and they will turn on after 30-4p seconds delay
Then after another 30 seconds the second one will start

How can i start troubleshooting it.
    Thanks

does this persist after rebooting the entire hs server, or does performance degrade over time?

Well i am running linux and the available resources are more than enought.
I relocated the hub to a few other rooms to see if it improves anything
I didnt see any change after rebooting the hub or hs3

But in the logs i see it takes time until i see all the replies from the endpoint modules back to hs3

this may be a linux specific issue; no one else is reporting this here. please check with other linux users that are running the latest HS3.

          Hey Mark.
just wanted to add that i am on the latest 368 version of homeseer and your latest beta plugin.
when i run on windows the performance is great. starting 4 devices will turn them on with 1-2 delay between them

i installed a clean ubuntu OS and installed homeseer with mono 5 and just imported the configuration to it.
the same configuration will now start 4 devices with 20-30 second delay between them.

so this is a pure linux issue. am i still the only one who reported it?
          thanks

            Hey Mark.
i installed a clean ubuntu and a clean Homeseer.
added your beta plugin and registered 3 devices.
            Kitchen Light
            Counter Light
            Table Light.
this is the same HUB with the same devices.
of course each time the INSTEON plugin was on, the other system was off.

i started "On" on all the devices and notices around 10-15 seconds delay between them:
here is the detailed log on the linux - https://pastebin.com/jCuvpC0H

i went back to the windows version and ran the same devices with the detailed log:

                Hey.
Did you get a chance to see the logs?
Same devices. Same commands nit huge difference between Windows and linux.
You can see a lot more failed errors on linux but when i run this in Windows theyj response faster.

the test were done on the same 3 devices and on the same HUB.
one was done on a VM with windows 10 and the other was done from an ubuntu machine with mono 5. (tested also version 4).
it seems that the plugin on windows react a lot better with the hub than on the linux.
the other plugins and HS3 works a lot better on linux than on windows and this delay is the only thing that is making me stay on windows.

On the windows Log there isnt any delay. the command is sent and received and the response time is great.

i have the old HUB and its the only one i used from the start (attached the picture)

is there any test you would like me to do to get more info on this?
there might be a problem that other linux insteon users doesnt know it exist.

thanks. not sure how many are using the original hub, but not sure that should make a difference.

do you have any entries in your insteon.ini under a [hub] section? if so, can you post

my code for the hub between windows and Linux is the same. its a little different for a serial port, but that's not in play here.

so I'm wondering if there is an implementation issue between Linux and windows for the classes i'm using for the Hub, specifically the following

                            HttpWebRequest & HttpWebResponse

As a test for the Linux setup, shutdown hs, add the following to your insteon.ini and restart and retest

                            [hub]
                            ResponseTime=5
                            the default is 3

                              Well it improved a bit.
now the delay is down to 5-8 seconds.

but the update of the status on HS is also very slow.

i shutdown 3 devices and the first 2 were turned off right away but the third turned off after 8 seconds.
the status on HS3 was also changed around 10 seconds later.

same thing happened when i turned the devices on.
in the windows version it updated the status right away on all devices.

would you like me to make a small video of the issue?
