Real-time export of Event Logs to MySQL?

I'm trying to store event logs to a MySQL database, ideally via a plugin. UltraLog looked like a good fit but MySQL support was removed in a recent version, and there's no syslog export yet. I found a few partial script examples in the forum but nothing I'm comfortable enough to implement yet. Anyone have any suggestions?
