    Windows 7 Voices

I am migrating Homeseer to a netbook running Windows 7 and was horrified to see that Anna is the only available voice. Is there a way to get other voices added?

They cost $35-45 but theres a trial to see if you like them

I use the British Brian voice and use "Jarvis" to activate my commands

I use Neospeech and Cepstral. Neospeech are my favorites - very life-like voices. Cepstral are pretty good too and can be purchased here on the HS store:

Excellent thanks for the feedback guys! Spud have you been able to look into integrating system audio into the plugin? My office where the server resides is right next to my bedroom, I could get a $25 bluetooth speaker or even physically wire something up rather than putting another kinect / remote in the room.

I couldn't find an easy way to get info on neospeech's website. Do you have to request a quote and talk to the sales team in order to download the voices from their site?

not sure I understand. What do you mean by "integrating system audio into the plugin" ?

Yeah unfortunately. It's not that bad though and they're pretty receptive as well. In fact, they may offer you a deal if you buy more than 1 voice.

I used to use Cepstral voices for about 8 years. I have a ton of them. I recently, a few years ago, switched to the Ivona voices because I find them to be much more realistic and they seem to get updated. The Cepstral voices have been the same for AT LEAST 8 years and probably longer. I got hooked because the Ivona Android voices are free. Before I moved to HomeSeer and was using Vera I had to use an Android device for all of my TTS. Vera has no native ability to produce sounds of any type whatsoever. What a hack that all was! But when I made the move I got the same voices so the family noticed no difference..... except things worked better, faster, less failures and with much more variety.

Little OT, I know, but in a nutshell I recommend the Ivona voices.

Yeah, Bridget is my main voice these days. Great accent and no digitized syllables if ya know what I mean.

Whats the cost for the neospeech and which service did you get from them.

That is a very smooth voice and doesn't sound like the typical PC voice.
