    AirPlay Error

I have never gotten Airplay to work right, and got sidelined with other projects...

I forgot that my wife installed an Apple TV...

So the Update this morning reminded me to look at AirSpeak again...

    Mar-23 8:16:07 AM AirplaySpeak DEBUG 128 Speaker.AfterSend()

I know I have to put in delays before it starts speaking, but what about this error? I have no idea where to start?

Ok, I tried with my TEST Apple box.
Plays NICE music. If it is playing via Wifi, I will get a "Not enough Bandwidth" message when I try to TTS to it while it is playing.

So I turned off the nice music... and sent it a LONG test message.

All of the PC's played the message, none of the apples did. here is the debug log.

      sorry for the delay

I guess you run HS3 on Windows? If so it's probably the windows firewall that causes the problem. Disable the windows firewall temporarily to test, if it works then you need to add a rule to let the HSPI_AIRPLAY_SPEAK.exe communicate on your local network.

        Hum...
I will try that, but normally if a program wants to use the network I get a POP-UP from the firewall asking for permission...
        (Ran into that withHSTouch)

But I will try it and see if I am missing it because it is in the closet downstairs, maybe it goes away before I get downstairs...

there is very good chances this is the problem, I tried to send TTS to my Apple TV with the windows firewall turned on, and I got the "500 Internal Server Error"

I put the API into the Firewalls 'OK' list....

            Error changed a bit....

Note: EVERYTHING in this house is wireless... and I have seen issues where something was playing to the device and got back a "not enough bandwidth" message...

The PLAN is to get AirSpeak working and put in some dumb, but dedicated, airplay speakers whose ONLY job is to play announcements. I may bridge (y-cord) the device into the existing system to see if that works, once I get it working reliably...

it looks like a recent update of tvos prevent from setting the Airplay security to None.
I need to look at how I can make the plug-in work with a passcode/password

I confirmed the problem comes from tvOS 10.2, I downgraded to 10.1.1 using this guide, and the AirplaySpeak plug-in works again (by setting security=none in the Airplay settings of the AppleTV).

I will try to come up with a solution for 10.2, but it may take some time as a new device verification mechanism is now required. So at this point it's better to not upgrade to tvOS 10.2 (or downgrade to 10.1.1)

                  Still Getting errors

This is an AirPort Express, ver 7.6.8
It plays music from my iPad wonderfully
If it is playing music I get "Not enough Bandwidth" which is Understandable

But if it is quiet, nothing playing and I try TTS to it... I get...

Please turn off completely your firewall before testing, this is the cause of most of "500 Internal Server" errors
wireless should not make any difference
"Not enough Bandwidth" means another program (i.e. iTunes) is connected to the speaker, so close this other program.

Then test with a longer message than "This is a test".

                      Got it to work !
OK... it is NOT a firewall issue as I got it to work with another iReciever, a non-apple device that is DLNA device.

I have both the AirPort Express and the iReciever on a bench, and I can switch between them. Both of them have been reset (several times) and are seen by Airplay.

The Following is the Log from the Air-Port Express. Exact same Event as above, just the iReciever was disabled and the Airport Express Enabled.

Something else is going on, some interaction is messing up the AirPort Express and not the generic DNLA device.

Sorry, one more comment since I had everything on a Bench.

I turned "forward to HS Speakers" back on....

The Local HS Speaker had FINISHED Playing the message before the AirPlay even began. Is "delay" in seconds, tenths or 10s of seconds?

Going to play a bit more before I have to turn AirPlay back off and return the HS3 system to normal operation running the house.

                            Hum...

"Wait for Speech to Finish" has a major effect, un-selected and airplay doesn't work at all.

Select it, and Airplay works, although it seems to play AFTER the HS Speakers are finished.

                              One More...

I was playing music to the iReciever... Expected "Not enough Bandwidth" but got something totally different.

Let me know what tests you want me to run. I have access to an AppleTv, an Airport Express and a generic DNLA reciever.
