    Linux Support

    HS3 Linux http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=162813

Oracle Virtual Box (open source VM) https://www.virtualbox.org/

    Debian8 https://www.debian.org/

I just posted v3.0.1.7 to the BETA updater with a revised support string so it will show as available for Linux as well. I was able to get this running with the Linux version of HS3 3.0.0.258 under an Oracle Virtual Box running Debian8. This version has some significant internal plumbing fixes in regards to the communication with serial port and handling the bytes read/written. I was able to get this working because Virtual Box apparently has USB drivers that will allow mapping the USB-to-serial (FTDI) device I'm using into Debian so it can be used via /dev/ttyUSB0. I've read that others have advised if you are running a dedicated system (not a VM) with Debian/Ubuntu that /dev/ttyUSB0 is *not* supported. I guess that means it has to connect to a real COM# port but I haven't tested that.

Please keep in mind you have to have a successfully working Linux environment with HS3 before even attempting to try this plugin. This forum can't provide generalized linux support.

    Good luck!
