My electrician will be installing my light switches throughout my home this week ( I need some answers quickly ) Some of these HS-WD100+ switches are being used to control 12v led light strips via a Magnetic transformer. The setup and wiring can be found at the end of this post.
The problem I'm having is simple. After a phone call with Homeseer today, the technician said the HS-WD100+ is not compatible with Magnetic transformers. He went on to say that he's not an electrician and that the Homeseer technical engineer was on vacation for the week. So, I don't have full confidence in the technician's answer, but at the same time I need answers tomorrow. Electricians will be at my home installing switches tomorrow.
The thing that I confused on is that the HS-WD100+ are indeed phase forward switches, so they should be compatible with the Magnetic driver. Is the technician simply wrong on stating that HS-WD100+ are not compatible with Magnetic drivers? Am I missing something?
Another post on the Homeseer forum(https://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=180692) states that in order for switches to be compatible with Magnetic Transformers they must be "symmetric" as well as phase forward. Meaning that no DC is created from the switches. I can not confirm anywhere online if the HS-WD100+ switches are symmetric. Are HS-WD100+ switches symmetric?
They're wired in this way: ( in order )
--> 12v LED light strips to...
--> [Magnitude](https://www.magnitudeinc.com/product...le-led-driver/) Magnetic driver to...
--> Homeseer HS-WD100+ switch to...
--> 120v load.
