Event not working - Help

I built a security event in Homeseer - If manually triggered then turn lights on between 1159 pm and 0800 am. the trigger is an IFTTT applet with Ring.com motion detection. All works fine except the lights come on no matter what time of day. What is wrong with my logic? Screen shot attached. Help appreciated!!

I can't remember for sure, but I think there is something about 12 am being a different day and spanning over it like you are trying doesn't work well.

2 options create a virtual device you can use as your condition and changed based off those times of day, or maybe change the time to 12:01 AM

Doesn't a manually triggered scene ignore all checks and just run the event regardless. If so, then your time checks would be ignored.
On the other hand I am only just beginning with HS so don't trust my input.

If you run it by hitting the run button in the event the conditions are ignored but an event with the manual trigger (maybe run from another event) will have the conditions respected when run.

The issue is that you need to have a condition for it being before 8 AM. Not in between to times because that spans the witching hour. If you wanted the event to run, say, between 11 PM and 8 AM you would need a: AND IF the time is before 8 AM OR IF the time is after 11 PM.

There also may be a problem using the IFTTT trigger. It's not clear how you are instructing HS to honor the conditions on your event. You may have to trigger a "dummy" event with the IFTTT trigger, then have that event trigger the security event, with the check box ticked to run only if the conditions are true.

As S-F noted, the time condition also needs to be adjusted, but I think it can be reduced to just one condition.

If this event is manually triggered and if the time is before 8:00 AM

Thanks

I changed the time to 1201 am, still always runs. I will try the or if instead of and if suggestion. The event is triggered fine, I just need the conditions to be met. If the or if does not fix it will try the dummy event! Thanks all for the input!!

I think you're making this MUCH more complicated than necessary. See attached:

This is the answer, but if the event is called from IFTTT the conditions will be ignored. In order for the conditions to be honored, you will need an intermediate event called from the IFTTT action. The intermediate event would be:

IF This event is manually triggered
THEN If the event conditions are true, Run event (Colin's Event)

The intermediate event is nessessary in order for the conditions to be honored.

Colin's event will work because days start and end at midnight. Before 8:00AM really means After midnight and before 8:00AM. Similarly After 8:00PM means After 8:00PM and before midnight.
